Knowledge and Communication is an album about the meaning of life.
In the summer of 2021, Charlie tried to do a back flip off a cliff. It hurt. You can hear about it in README.txt. Put some realization of mortality into him and he decided he ought to communicate before he did something more stupid and died outright. The 7 track Odi Et Amo EP was the result of that.
After four years of reflection, he recorded and produced 8 more tracks in 3.5 hours on a Tuesday afternoon in a hobbyist home music studio in the Upper West Side of New York City. Knowledge and Communication (April 2025) is the album that wraps up this project of communicating the most important things he's learned in life so far. Combined with the 2021 Odi et Amo EP it is 15 tracks long, though not all songs are available to the public.
Songs in Odi Et Amo were recorded and produced in a single take, in under 5 hours. Some have been iterated on, some have retained their back-yard-studio charm.
Some inspo: Charlie heard that Kanye West's album "The Life of Pablo" had songs reuploaded several times after its initial release. This jived with his rapid-prototyping and iterative mindset for creative project development (games, standup performances, magic routines, etc), and he wondered at the fact that if it was so easy, why not record and publish an album super fast and then get feedback and iterate?
