Yassa Blaster is the fiery fusion of pop and Senegalese Wolof singing, often referred to as Afropean music or Pop Wolof.
Based in Paris, the members of Yassa Blaster showcase their diverse musical influences within their songs, rooted in international backgrounds.
Moussa-Abou-G hails from Dakar, the capital of Senegal, where he grew up before coming to France. It's here that he met Ky Phung Nguyen and Alex Viudes, both from the indie pop scene, to form the group.
The trio, once assembled, embarked on composing songs in 2022. The band's aim is to enrich their compositions with various sounds while emphasizing the cultural blend that defines their music.
