YD (Yared Daniel) is an Ethiopian artist shaping the future of East African music with a bold mix of Hip-Hop, Trap, Drill, R&B, and Pop. He began his journey in 2018 with his debut project Rasehen Hun (“Be Yourself”) — a 6-track release that became a cornerstone of Ethiopia’s underground rap scene.
He followed up with the controversial 16, then kept evolving through Mister, Hasab, and Before Fame, a project that sparked real buzz and brought his name into wider conversation. In 2023, YD dropped Enen Bene (“Me by Myself”), a raw and introspective body of work that earned him critical respect and solidified his lane.
Now, after a long creative pause, YD is back with his most anticipated release yet — Mesenado, dropping July 30, 2025. It’s his most mature, focused, and emotionally charged work to date.
YD’s sound is rooted in truth — fusing street realism with cultural identity, switching between Amharic and English with ease. From the underground to the spotlight, YD stands as a fearless voice for his generation.
