Yiannis Papayiannis

Yiannis Papayiannis studied saxophone, guitar, bass, drums and composition in Athens, Bern, Luzern and New York. Also in the " Papantonopoulou college of Audio+Film Engineering" in Athens.From 1988 until 1992 he was a member of the "Center of contemporary music research", an Institute in Athens. At that time he was working as a sound engineer and studio musician at the "Sinena" Studio.
Living in Switzerland from 1992 until 1999 he has worked with many diverse ensembles, studios and various projects in Bern and Basel.
After this period for short time he was living in New York, studding with several renowned saxophonists, including Bob Berg among others.
Since 2000 he has been working with various bands or as session musician for concerts and studio productions in Switzerland, France and Germany.
He also works as a sound engineer and producer for studio recordings.
As a member of "Suisa" ha has more than 60 registered compositions.
From 2007 to 2009 he worked with Ron Cartel (former singer of "Tower of Power") and played on his CD „Don't Make The Monkey Drunk“.

The latest work are in 2019:

The collaboration with the German pianist and composer Hans Joachim Golm, where Y. Papayiannis played soprano and tenor saxophone and made the production for H.J. Golm's new CD "keep it on". (Recording Mixing Mastering).
