YiGZAW

Multifaceted Swedish afrobeats artist, merging RnB, Amapiano, pop and an infectious melody sound YiGZAW is a force to be reckon with. Growing up in his younger childhood with Ethiopian gospel choir in his backbone, he channelized this to build his musical foundation, building bridges with poetry, songwriting, singing and rap.

Debuting with his first song CANNOT CHANGE it quickly raised attention and reached over a 100 000 streams independently. The song made it to the largest radio station ”P3 Sveriges radio” and tapped into the audiences of Europe speaking countries. 2019 he debuted with his EP ”Premiere” marking a beginning era of alternative RnB fusion with Hip-Hop.

Together with some of his dedicated musician friends and artist colleagues he founded the multi-powerhouse collective ”Fugitive Familia” where they’ve collectively gathered over 1 million streams in their catalogue.

2022 he released his debutalbum Ett steg bak två steg fram portraying his master blend of songwriting, bending sounds while gathering overseas sound inspiration to the Swedish music scene among with other releases. He later that year got nominated for ”Album Of The Year” among with other Swedish prodigy’s by newspaper Kingsize magazine. 2023 he advanced to the national TV song contest Songland, broadcasted by The Swedish National television (SVT) working with artists like Jireel and Elias Capari with his song Treasure (From Songland), impressively gaining attention across the industry.
