Inspired by the Islington legends <a href="spotify:artist:2rzuSaPI8b8M07tfQHNhRI" data-name="Joe Black">Joe Black</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6VkIVwkujaxm1wSNdhjUrg" data-name="Benny Banks">Benny Banks</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:52jwaLGrYTCFAEwDW0rI52" data-name="Squeeks">Squeeks</a>, the self proclaimed ‘Hardest In Izzy’ YMG has been able to beat the odds coming from a single parent home since the loss of his father.
After involving himself in the street life amongst other hustles, he used music as an outlet to change his family’s situation and first showcased his pain with a tribute to his father in a single titled ‘Letter To Dad’ in 2010.
In 2012 he remixed Rick Ross’s ‘Stay Schemin’; which became a viral sensation in the UK. Since then, he has been on a constant grind to create a buzz for him and his team (SAF).
After years of grinding he released his first EP amidst the pandemic in 2020 titled ‘Branson’, his alter ego which draws inspiration from billionaire businessman Richard Branson.
This 7 track EP featuring the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:52sXq7h0dM2d4zh1lpFRxt" data-name="WANI">WANI</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:40Acs9SUG27Jqq2zpHGl0z" data-name="Riddz">Riddz</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4rMkRVSB8ZtdbHwz3pPoDh" data-name="Indyanah">Indyanah</a> garnered a cult following and was recognized by Spotify’s official Fresh Finds: Hip Hop playlist.
With another EP scheduled to be released in 2021, YMG remains active, having featured on GRM Daily and Link Up TV in the first half of the year with new music scheduled for release in August.
