YNUG started making music in his early college years at the University of Jos, in north-central Nigeria. By the time he had completed his degree, he gained some buzz with his debut project <a href="spotify:album:4j52Q5mL6snrxAVPsp8o10" data-name="Yung Music Yung Nation">Yung Music Yung Nation</a> and subsequent singles like <a href="spotify:track:3dhY4KzTxxCc0uHQV05Rxd" data-name="GSM">GSM</a> and <a href="spotify:track:4BYTVp6LomvQAf6RaxopEG" data-name="S.A.K">S.A.K</a> (shege a kaduna).

In 2015, He independently delivered his first full-body project, the bilingual album, <a href="spotify:album:11w5t0gqX85CbWjcUdrIq4" data-name="Multiple Personality Disorder">Multiple Personality Disorder</a>, which brought forth a lot of critical acclaim and established him as a rapper, proficient in both English and Hausa (one of Nigeria’s major indigenous languages).

July 2017, following a brief hiatus due to deep soul searching, YNUG returned with <a href="spotify:album:3wXERzS9eeS5U9ZYRMdtZ5" data-name="Summer Salt">Summer Salt</a> which featured stand-out records like <a href="spotify:track:3s8RcfztujTTxGLHBCTK2C" data-name="Four Twenty-Three">Four Twenty-Three</a> and <a href="spotify:track:3DRkt1Tk5JPy6atRgRVghX" data-name="True &amp; Through">True &amp; Through</a>, These singles would later feature again in his August 2018 release, <a href="spotify:album:4KxC1dBFDxweH0J7uA5l0W" data-name="Terms &amp; Conditions">Terms &amp; Conditions</a>, his last album out.

On <a href="spotify:album:4KxC1dBFDxweH0J7uA5l0W" data-name="Terms &amp; Conditions">Terms &amp; Conditions</a> YNUG goes at it alone with all-round production, again by <a href="spotify:artist:40zKXUqBrDtJo1h34a7zSl" data-name="Jxmmy Whxxlxr">Jxmmy Whxxlxr</a>, the pair showing amazing chemistry and so much versatility from start to finish with tracks including <a href="spotify:track:4aOzweZxSC9saH4OmVhK5T" data-name="Applied Finesse">Applied Finesse</a>, <a href="spotify:track:4wwso4j2nYl0KZFb0GODKQ" data-name="Dogon Turanci">Dogon Turanci</a> and <a href="spotify:track:1mUPKjccB2BrqL9SsgvJPa" data-name="Moscow">Moscow</a>.
