ENTER YONA, AN 18-YEAR-OLD BILINGUAL FRENCH-AMERICAN SINGER-SONGWRITER,
who combines her love for pop with a hint of grunge. grime, guitars and deep lyrics. Her sound is always evolving, she intersects between various genres, as she was always inspired by a plethora of artists, films, genres, poets, fashion icons and countries that have made her the artist she is today. Growing up in a foreign household, while living in an American society. she's never felt pressured to lean one way or another.
As she continues to delve deeper into exploring her sound, she's also working towards her debut EP.
Her first single, "Goodbye," that released 2 years ago, is a smooth, slow breakup song with echoing guitars and a lo-fi beat, accompanied by a video full of electric melancholy. Yona's love for music struck at a very early age while she grew up in a rock band, doing musicals for her school, talent shows, and most importantly, dancing from the age of a baby.
At the age of 12 Yona started uploading cover songs and some original music to the platform
*Soundcloud" where self expression met her desire to escape from the turmoil of the world. In 2024 Yona plans on releasing new music, led by her single Graveyard. Letting go of past and emerging stronger. The reference to a graveyard and the notion of being dug out in the chorus can be seen as a resurrection or a new beginning. This related to Yona in finding herself not only as an artist, but as the person she is today.
