Started off as a side project collaboration of 2 producers/djs from Jakarta, <a href="spotify:artist:5vU8nLl2DbJnvTwYsFX1Wd" data-name="ARRAY">ARRAY</a> and Marquee. The two best friends found their musical connection since 2014 when they spend time together in the UK and vibing through some UK House tracks.
In 2016, they were asked to remix a track by Rizky Febian, for a national EDM competition called The Remix. they decided to use Yookai as their aliases just for fun. But the remixed track tore down the stage!
Finally they decided to shed off the old skin and release a debut Deep Tech House track called, Northern Waves. Following their first debut release, Northern Waves, now Yookai show off their song writing side with a track called, Europa. Originally was a remixed Marquee's track by Array. They decided to rewrite and rearrange it again.
Yookai have globally released 2 tracks that defines the future of their musical journey with 'Northern Waves' and 'Europa'. Now they are release their debut EP called Discovery. The music take the audience with them to discover possibilities outside their comfort zone, creating new space.
The EP starts with 'Highlands' where we are overlooking places that we have yet to explore. Continue with 'Discovery', the time when we discover new elements during the exploration. And finally, 'Perseverance', music that let us open our mind and accept what we are as human kind.
