Yorkshire Modular Society is an ethos of creation by way of listening. It is truly formless, without beginning or end, like a great ashen tree beneath the Earth's crust, whose roots penetrate the skies.
Yorkshire Modular Society; aka Dominick Schofield started his musical journey aged 7, where he immersed himself in classical piano training until the age of 16. During these formative years, he also showcased his percussive skills playing tuned and untuned percussion in various orchestras and ensembles, laying the foundation for a diverse musical palette.
An indie band chapter, playing synths and samples, unfolded during secondary school, culminating in a significant milestone – signing a record deal, touring the UK, and gracing the stage of Glastonbury Festival. In 2006, Dominick took a bold turn, leaving the band behind to pursue a deeper understanding of sound. This led him to the University of the Arts London, where he studied Sound Art & Design.
It was during this academic exploration that Oxynucid emerged. Dominick’s electronic, acid, techno alter ego started taking shape, signalling a new chapter. After graduating, a move to Yorkshire marked the next phase, where he not only built a modular synthesiser, but also embraced the persona of Yorkshire Modular Society, adding another layer of intrigue to his sonic ventures.
