In the summer of 2017, Young Humz started music as a result of being successful in public speaking competitions along with a captivating voice. After having to deal with the kinks of becoming a recording artist, Young Humz made his debut on all streaming platforms with his single <a href="spotify:album:7muAzFmcMKLGpkx6GkKnr4" data-name="Redemption">Redemption</a> which helped him gain traction in his home city of North Bay, Ontario. He spent the rest of 2019 releasing 4 singles featuring other local artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:3fzp2qcR852COoRtXbGmhZ" data-name="Liam Farquhar">Liam Farquhar</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1q0ilAPJP4BHb91GM0YRaN" data-name="Social Red*">Social Red*</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:22PcZCGOOB9CAAptqyYqEc" data-name="TaJeh">TaJeh</a>.
On April 17th, 2020, Young Humz released his debut album <a href="spotify:album:5P30atEmvfYR8sZKCVYFjs" data-name="Put Me to Sleep">Put Me to Sleep</a> which contained 9 songs that showed his significant improvements as a producer, rapper, and writer. This led to a high point in his career when on July 31st, 2020, he released <a href="spotify:album:3MXNzpWW35Am9FzM0pWG3H" data-name="Charles Manson">Charles Manson</a> which was his most successful release at the time. Most notably, it was featured on Toronto superstar <a href="spotify:artist:2nGZqSJU7K5mkZCjxSlu5J" data-name="Roney">Roney</a>'s mixtape showcasing Toronto hip-hop aritists. The mixtape was promoted on the biggest billboards in downtown Toronto and opened many doors for Young Humz.
In the following months, Young Humz would make connections that would set the trajectory for the rest of his music career. He met his favorite producer <a href="spotify:artist:1qOfBbOsUqpK2183FoVNOH" data-name="JASON RICH">JASON RICH</a> through social media and was able to work with him on his most successful release to date <a href="spotify:track:29qfoUnma38knQ7FLswiym" data-name="Way Back">Way Back</a> with <a href="spotify:artist:4ucIxjoWFS3n9KvguhTWpz" data-name="TrippyThaKid">TrippyThaKid</a>. 2021 was his best year to date and it is only going to spice up from here...
