Young99p, born in French Guiana, South America, moved to Holland at the age of 13 in 2002. To keep it short, he grew up between Holland and mainland France.

At first, Young99p had nothing to do with rap. But after people kept telling him he should try it, he thought, “Why not?” Even music bookers would hit him up to perform and bring the vibe—before he had even released any official tracks.

He doesn’t like to talk about it much, but Young had serious voice problems. He lost his voice at the age of 8 and had to undergo surgery. It’s thanks to that tragedy that his voice became what it is today. (God is great.)

Making music started as a vybz in the studio. It was his sister, SOUYENGE, a talented musical artist, who told him he had an actor’s voice—and that he could do big things with it, including music.

With Surinamese roots, don’t be surprised if you hear him rapping in Sranan Tongo, Dutch, English, French, Patois, or other languages—he’s a truly multicultural artist.

He can adapt his voice to many styles, including trap, drill, R&B, dancehall, and more. Young99p doesn’t hide it: he’s deeply fascinated by wolves. He loves their world, and he truly sees himself as a werewolf.

Stay tuned—he’s working on his first project. 🐺💫

“Listening to his music will tell you more about him.”
