Yung Haiku grew up on the outskirts of the 6ix, but never felt like he really fit into Toronto’s music scene. While most people in his highschool were obsessively bumping Drake, he walked around listening to metalcore and analyzing Lil Wayne lyrics. This inspired him to begin combining genres in weird ways, and thus the music journey began.
He first started releasing music on Soundcloud under the name STEVE XANNY in 2016. The music evolved from trap metal to a new, melodic emo rap sound under his current name yung haiku.
