Born from a love of the magical 1980s music scene, Yuri Cosmonaut draws influence from iconic bands like Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Kraftwerk, and Yello. Starting as a school DJ in the 80s, Yuri immersed himself in the burgeoning techno scene in the 90s, honing his craft and developing a deep appreciation for synthesizer sounds. In 2004, he founded the electropop project "Chekov & Gagarin," gaining recognition with their cover of Kim Wilde’s “View From A Bridge.” Recently, Yuri revisited this classic, adding modern touches inspired by Kavinsky’s “Nightcall.” Known for his innovative use of hardware synths, Yuri blends analogue and digital techniques to create unique soundscapes. His latest works reflect a rich tapestry of influences from the past four decades, culminating in a fresh, nostalgic sound.
