Nascido em 1966, no Brasil, radicou-se em Portugal na década de 80, onde frequentou, como bolseiro, a Escola de Jazz do Hot Clube de Portugal, em Lisboa. Desde então, tem colaborado com vários nomes da música portuguesa. Rui Veloso, Pilar Homem de Melo, Dulce Pontes, Sérgio Godinho, José Mário Branco, Maria João e Mário Laginha. No quadro estrangeiro colaborou com Wayne Shorter, Paulo Moura, Cliff Korman, Rick Lathan, John Stubblefield, Frank Colon, Manu Katche, Luiz Avelar, Ivan Lins, entre muitos outros.
Actualmente faz parte do Jan Garbarek Group com, Jan Garbarek, Trilok Gurtu, Rainer Brueninghaus.
