Yves Vroemen

Yves Vroemen (1987) is a Dutch composer.

In the 2021 album ‘Obstacle - a symphonic journey’, Yves started creating a series of philosophic program music works that would contain studies of environmental philosophy, philosophical anthropology and normative science. ‘Obstacle’ is inspired by the high rates of mental distress and potential depression during lockdown pandemic situations. In ‘Change - a symphonic journey’ (2021) , Yves composed a philosophical thought-experiment as a base of the musical storyline. He got inspired by articles of personal change in character and mind. The work contains a philosophical route in two different stages or acts, inspired by opera containing a short performance and a full performance. In ‘Journey - a symphonic hike’, Yves studied articles on the field of climate changing ecosystems in the mountains during the anthropocene proposed geological epoch. The music contains a hike from valley to peak covering changing ambiances in both climate, weather and changes of height throughout the album. Yves composed a Dutch climate change activism opera for 7 pieces of the Journey album.
In his latest album ‘Revelation - a symphonic journey’, Yves studied articles on the field of neurodiversity and self-diagnostics in the field of autism and aspergers. The music contains developments on a personal level going through the psychological bitterness of a self diagnose, breakthrough, depression and finding acceptance to revelation.
