Zac Poor is an American artist based in Los Angeles, California who first appeared on the music scene in early 2010 with his EP Let’s Just Call It Heartbreak, a collaboration with powerhouse Glee producer Adam Anders. Universal Motown executive Silvia Rhone quickly took notice of Poor’s talent and signed him to his first major recording deal in early 2011.
While recording his debut album he also penned songs for other major international artists including Jonas Brothers, David Bisbal, and Girls Generation. More recently Poor collaborated with Grammy winner Tori Kelly on her platinum-selling single “Hollow,” and co-wrote songs for Tate McRae, Cody Simpson, MNEK, and more.
In 2019, Zac Poor released Mulholland at Midnight, a musical and visual collaboration with Brooklyn-based producer REO (Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Sabrina Claudio). The EP has garnered over 500K plays on Spotify.
Poor is currently recording his debut LP Years Of My Youth with Grammy-nominated producers Morgan Taylor Reid (Chromeo, Backstreet Boys) and Mason “MdL” Levy (Justin Bieber, Maroon 5). The album chronicles the challenges he faced growing up queer in rural Montana. “Ghost Boy”, the lead single off YOMY, is slated for release in late October 2022. The song is an LGBTQ+ anthem inspired by a letter he wrote to his younger self.
In 2020, during the pandemic, Zac Poor launched his podcast Poor Me A Cup, where he hosts inspiring conversations with members of the creative community over coffee.
