Hailing from Bradford via Congo, 23 -year old Zaire is a musician / Singer bringing a new feel to the UK music scene .
Zaire moved to the UK when he was 4 years old, speaking French, English Lingala and Kiswahili; he quickly settled in and learnt his craft primarily in church where he picked up his multi-instrumentalist skills playing drums, keys, and bass .
He adopted his native land’s post-colonial name ‘Zaire’ which comes from a Kongo term meaning "the river that swallows all rivers" and upholds the strengths of the original people by embracing a warrior spirit within his music. Seeing himself first as an African, Zaire developed his signature sound.
