Zakari

Born and raised in the Texas panhandle, Zakari grew up in the small town of Plainview TX. He got his start singing in the choir for his church. A free spirit, Zakari spent just about every summer of his childhood exploring his hometown with his neighborhood friends. In 2015 he attended middle school in Lubbock Tx, where he'd meet one of his lifelong friends, lead singer and songwriter for the rock band Ghostlux: Reb Hope. The two would lose contact for several years after he moved away with his mother to attend high school in yet another small town known as "Sandyland" (Lamesa) TX. It wasn't until the Global Pandemic of 2020 when Zakari made the decision to pursue a music career of his own. He began writing songs alone in his room and on the roof of his apartment complex in Houston where he briefly attended the university in an effort to combat the social isolation that was undoubtedly felt worldwide. In a twisted turn of events, one random afternoon in 2021, Zakari ran into Reb Hope, who was also finding her start in the music industry with her new female fronted rock band!
The rekindling of their friendship lead to two years of recording sessions that ultimately lead to the release of his first ever single: MR. BITCHES in which she produced. Zakari now composes music that is rooted in the essence of classic rock n roll with a daring blend of modern pop influence that is geared towards the LGBTQ community and the advancement thereof.
