“Zanna” is the former stage name of Italian indie artist Danilo Zanello.
Born and currently based in Genoa, Italy, Danilo Zanello is a self-taught and self-produced indie artist. His songs take inspiration from the great rock and pop music of the 60s and 70s, from ballads to psychedelia.
Although mainly a drummer and singer, he also plays guitars, bass and keys on most of his songs.
He's also on drums and vocals in the indie rock band “Unsinkable Sam”, formed in 2023 with high-school friends Andy Costo and Lorenzo Leonardini.
Danilo's musical journey started in 2018 with his former band "<a href="spotify:artist:6TR00j0FFL6bctOqCRdAG7" data-name=":Papille Gustative">:Papille Gustative</a>", for which he wrote their only original song "<a href="spotify:album:1zTcOiRNybBiLXWha6QI3P" data-name="Mr. Baskerville">Mr. Baskerville</a>".
Then, in 2021, his solo career began with the single "Butterflies" , released under his former stage name “Zanna”. "<a href="spotify:track:6XA9qPc9kGEtR1GbhgyvTi" data-name="The Witch Prince">The Witch Prince</a>", released in 2024, was the last song credited to Zanna before switching to his real name.
