Zapapaya

Zapapaya is a Franco-Colombian producer and DJ based in Paris, blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with modern, organic, and sun-soaked electronic sounds. With a unique sonic identity, he represents the new wave of Afro Latin House.

After over a decade composing behind the scenes and racking up millions of streams, Zapapaya stepped into the spotlight with Raíces (2023), a debut EP recorded between Cartagena and Palenque, featuring artists like La Burgo, Gotopo, Ëda Diaz, and DJ Corpas (Systema Solar).

In 2024, he released Aurora with La Negra Hawkins on Bob Sinclar’s Africanism label—a spiritual, tribal house track celebrating life and loss. The song earned support from Afro House pioneers like Moblack, Nitefreak, Adam Port, and Videojean.

Coming mid-2025, his second EP Cartagena explores a festive and rooted fusion of Afro House, Champeta, and Colombian folklor. Inspired by the Caribbean coast’s rich musical soul, it brings together soukous guitars, coastal percussion, and vibrant new collaborations.

In 2025, Zapapaya hits stages in Paris (Le Bristol, Silencio, Cabaret Sauvage), as well as London, Bogotá, and Cartagena—cementing his place as a rising force in global Afro Latin House.
