Zaptra

Zaptra is the stage name for electronic music producer, Art Paz. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Zaptra began in 2004 with drum machine and acoustic guitar, but has since expanded to include a wide array of musical devices that characterize the layered and complex sound heard from all of Art’s releases. Zaptra’s debut release 12” self-titled full-length album, ZAPTRA, played on L.A. popular radio stations such as KCRW and KXLU. Followed by releases Mellow Sundown and Pulular E.P.

With the 2020 single release “Air Loom” Zaptra continues to fuze the worlds of Electronic, Indie, Hip Hop, Ambient music to create an experience where layers of sound envelope you into an upbeat, positive, and invigorating dreamworld. You feel as though you are melting away and floating on a cloud. Art continues to push his ideas of ambient, guitar dreamscapes with unique synth arrangements and beat driven rhythms. 

Zaptra's unique sound has also brought the attention to the remixing world for such artists as The Bellrays, Duran Duran, Bjork, yOya and Full Time Villain. Also known for Scoring music in collaboration with director Britt Brown’s short, titled “El Niño Encantado”.

Now living in Chicago and home base for Zaptra Productions Studio where sessions produced and recorded with artist QueenMars, Sons Of Brujas, 22 BLEU, As well as, New York City artist Pulular and France artist CarbonBloc. Plus many more!
