The ZAV Project was born in 2016 on the initiative of the bassist, singer and composer Julio Zavala, fruit of his constant exploration with Afro Peruvian rhytms and contemporary musical forms .
Winner of two national Composition Awards, another one awarded by the Development Program of Ibero- American Music (IBERMUSICAS) in 2016, in addition to the National Contest of Record Production Projects awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Peru in 2018, the group has managed to macerate a fusion that nourishes the ear and the feet equally.
The project brings together some of the most outstanding musicians of the Peruvian local scene, an has had successful appearances in two editions of the International Jazz Festival in Lima, at the International Book Fare of Lima, The 2019 Pan American Games, among other prominent places.
