Zay KG is a Hip Hop artist from Wisconsin that is building up an impressive resume on Spotify, SoundCloud and iTunes. “Ball” is the one that first caught our attention with its heavy vocal effects, but it’s his full body of work that shows a larger scope.
“Turnt The Wheels”, “Used Me” and “Stuck in My Head” explore topics that are relatable to everyone who cares about Hip Hop and what it represents. In each song, he does a great job of keeping his flow on top of the beats, letting nothing get overtaken. “Depression” has a beautiful chord progression underneath it that sets the depths of the lyrics perfectly. If he’s producing these tracks, he’s got a solid career ahead of him.
“High & Lows” is a record that shows a stunning depth – revealing the struggle that too many in this country go through. The presentation of each track is compelling as his rhymes reveal the turbulent life he and his family has had to endure. It’s a full-scale project that deserves to be listened to from beginning to end.
The amount of material he’s got his hands on is impressive. He’s clearly a creative who deserves more attention and spins. Artists like him are the reason why platform like SoundCloud are so successful, but he deserves to be on a bigger stage.
