Described as ‘a quartet who dialogues with the past and explores the future’ (Blogfoolk - 2019), acoustic ensemble Zephyros is a melting pot of four different musical experiences, constantly innovating tradition researching new directions.
Inspired by the mythologic spring West wind, Zephyros collects in its path a variety of influences, stories and soundscapes.
In the growing World Music scene, the ensemble researches its identity beyond any geographical connotation, favoring an intimate and poetic approach to composition.
Founded in Padova (Italy) in 2008, by Alessandro Tombesi (Harp), Francesco Rocco (Guitar), Alessandro Arcolin (Percussions) and Annamaria Moro (Cello), the ensemble took its first steps supported and inspired by historical Folk Revival group Calicanto.
Since then, the group performs in Italian festivals such as Veneto Jazz, Itinerari Folk Festival, Trentino GiroFolk, Ande Bali e Cante, I.C.A.Ro, DeltArte, VeneTonight.
In October 2018 Zephyros released the album Onirica, outcome of years of creative process in composition and arrangement of the group. It features nine tracks, both instrumental and songs, that can be seen as short evocative stories. Voices and acoustic instruments weave plots suspended between fragile nocturnal atmospheres and pulsing rhythms of wakefulness.
