Zer0, the Unknown

South Carolina artist Zer0, The Unknown spent years perfecting his style and coordinating his practice, starting at rap and then moving to engineering, producing and then illustrating. After years of work, Zer0, The Unknown began attracting attention with his horror based productions and visceral flows on singles like “Raw” and “The Wolf in the Window.”

Zer0, The Unknown was born Najee Paul Achong in Columbia, South Carolina in 1992. He grew up in the northeast region loving music thanks to his Trinidadian Grandmother, and would even perform scenes from musical movies such as The Temptations for her parties. His love for art grew as he became an anime fan after watching Akira, quickly realizing at the age of 5 that art was bigger than his local boundaries. On December 21, 2009, at the age of 17, he decided to start rapping and released his first mixtape Metr0 HaZe Vol. 1. The support he received drove him to work with DJ Sqibble of Quantum Beats Studio in Columbia, South Carolina and have him host his second mixtape Practorials. As well, work with AJ of SossHouse on Columbia, an audio/visual art collaborative, and Atop the Cauldron. Zer0, The Unknown is currently working on his latest season, Yux, and is geared up to release a single (or more) on Fridays for Studio FZD’s “St. Friday.” - Christian Sillon
