Zethe

Originally from Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, Zethe is a rising South African artist who blends jazz, soul, and urban traditional African sounds. Her music advocates for mental health and social justice, using her distinct voice to inspire change and promote unity. She believes that music can be a form of therapy, and each song she creates is infused with a message of hope, healing, and resilience.

Zethe’s journey has been one of self-discovery and persistence. “I’ve learned that you can start fresh as many times as you need to. Every first step teaches you something,” she said. Her resilience shone through when she won the Vodacom Nxt Lvl competition in 2017, a victory that set her on a path to becoming one of South Africa's most promising new voices. Reflecting on this, she noted, “It was like my 10-year plan condensed into a month. I suddenly had access to resources, but it was overwhelming, and I wasn’t mentally prepared.” Now, she takes pride in the patience she has cultivated, allowing her to create music that’s authentic, healing, and timeless.
