Ciro Manzari (AKA Zhero) is a self-taught singer/songwriter, musician and producer based in London, originally from Italy.
Inspired by modern artists such as
Lana Del Rey & Lady Gaga and by legends like Pink Floyd and Muse, at 22 years-old, Zhero is making himself known in the Alt-Pop scene thanks to his dreamy and hypnotic electro-pop in tracks such as “Mama”.
His mysterious Noir image, like the one in the video of “In My Head”, caught the eye of the younger generation around the world and he totalized more than 130k views on Youtube, placing him in the pantheon of upcoming Alt-pop singers.
A message from the artist:
“We could say it’s all started in 2013, in South-Italy, when I fell in love with a boy that has never loved me back. I was a teenager with a broken heart, and music was the only thing able to get me better. But listening wasn’t enough. That’s how I started writing: I wrote songs about my anger, pain, feelings of rejection. At the beginning it was mostly only that - letting go of these negative energies through song-writing. That is how “Oceanz”, my debut album has born. But, as I grew up, my approach to songwriting and my energies’ve changed. I’d like to say now that writing is my way to find all the “zheroes” around the world. When I was in that sad mood and I was listening to music, I felt one thing: I was not alone. It made me feel much better. And this is exactly what I want you to know when you’re listening to my music: you are not alone.”
