ZIMI is a self-taught singer-songwriter and super-producer who is interested in blending different genres, including R&B, jazz, and soul, to create evocative music that connects and resonates with the human experience as well as with her audience. She is known for her deep, unique, and powerfully controlled vocal performances and her craft of storytelling through lyrics and beat-making. ZIMI's music is rooted in ideas of ethereal experience, femininity, personal growth, love, passion, and heartbreak.

She was born in North Los Angeles under the birth name Alicia Zimmerman. She discovered her love for music, singing, and songwriting from an incredibly early age and began performing on stages shortly after. This journey led ZIMI to learn production software to allow her songwriting to be produced and shared publicly.
