Born in the 80’s and growing up in the 90’s, the golden age of hip-hop created a monster. His name? Zippa Castro. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana surrounded by drug addicts and alcoholics Zip found comfort in the aggressive lyrics of rap music. Growing up poor, living in a one bedroom house with his mother and younger brother he is no stranger to the struggle. During his teenage years he started molding lyrics to fit the narrative of his own life. His emotional delivery style collided with the gritty history of his upbringing offer a unique look into his real life. Now days he’s the proud father of 4 girls and enjoys the ability to support and love his family too give them the life he never had. He has performed alongside legends in the Louisiana hip hop scene such as Young Bleed, Max Minelli, Lil Cali and many other talented artists. Ten years later he has reemerged as a formative artist with a story to tell.
