Hypnotic. Heavenly. Heavy. Zo Lief craft a sound that alludes a whimsical nostalgia. Collaging velvety vocals with fuzzy guitars and swirly synths, they bounce around the walls of psychedelia, dream pop, chamber pop, indie and garage rock.
Retro-infused yet forward-thinking, the unique collaboration of musical and romantic partners Laura Chen (Dutch singer-songwriter and guitarist) and James Attwood (British multi-instrumentalist), is marked by catchy hooks and playful, poetic lyrics that render life and love through an alluring, cinematic lens. Performing live as a three-piece band, they bring their imaginative productions to life.
Zo Lief's debut EP 'Believe What You Believe' - produced and mixed by James Bagshaw (Temples) - was independently released via AWAL in 2023.
The band have toured extensively in the UK and Europe, supporting the likes of NewDad, Temples, Lo Moon, Zimmer90 and Iraina Mancini at renowned venues and new music hotspots in Amsterdam, London, Paris, Berlin, Cologne, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Cardiff, including Paradiso and Melkweg Amsterdam, Hammersmith Apollo and Lafayette London.
Following their selection as 3voor12 Talent for Popronde 2024, they went on a 12-week tour of The Netherlands.
Their sophomore 6-track EP 'Hypnosis' was released on March 28th 2025 via LAB Music.
