Zoltan Horcsok is a Canadian musician, audio engineer and producer whose work weaves the proverbial fine line between the blues, rock, country and folk. Originally trained in classical guitar and then making noise with a variety of Toronto-based blues and rock troublemakers, he “traded” his musical passion for a 25-year gig as an investment banker. Having “been there and done that”, and determined that conventional wisdom regarding a musical life need not apply, he “traded” back to do stuff he’d much rather do.
A ragbag of dodgy local stages and studios later, he recovered from the harrowing journey through high-finance and began collaborating with some amazing musicians and songwriters (an important part of the creative process ... it also makes for a hell of a good time). With the grand detour complete and his parking validated, he founded Grooveyard Soundworks (Toronto) in 2019, releasing new material that reflects a myriad of influences and experiences along the way. He also performs with, records and produces some very talented artists, always embracing the axiom “Don’t be afraid to switch it up. During the mix is where you may stumble upon exactly what you have been searching for”.
