Zonie was born in St.Ann's Bay, )St. Ann Jamaica W.I & grew up in Ocho Rios. Music & Entertainment was always around & he took great interest in them at an early age. He began listening to roots reggae songs from Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Burning Spear, Jacob Miller & dancehall acts like Lone Ranger, Yellow Man, General Trees, Papa San, Shabba, Tiger, Then continued with Buju, Bounty & Beenie Man etc. In High School Zonie & Elijah1 formed the dance group Creative Kids & became one of the most successful groups in Jamaica performing at resorts, school, talent & stage shows. They went on to win the JCDC festival in 1997, tastees talent & Hollywood dance championship. Zonie got some advise from the late great squingy of the Bass Odessey & while in NJ USA help form the Element Of Surprise sound & toured North America where he met an a DJ Shifty & began writing & recording songs. Zonie did some work with Micheal March C.E.O of Unique sounds recoding a known producer for Bob Marley, The Chosen Few etc. known as one of the most electrifying, slick talk, crowd pleasing selectors in the tri-state Zonie began writing for other artist & got the name ZONIE as many said he was beyond his time with metaphors, flows & versatility as if he was from another universe. His songs will surely change how we interpret music. Zonie continues tour Africa, Europe, USA, Canada & the Caribbean & is the CEO of Galactinated Muzik. The secret to success is to do the common things uncommonly” says Zonie.
