Barcelona-based experimental rock/psych-folk duo Zoot Chasm is the brain-child of Benjamin Sanchez-Watson and Oscar Lyons. Their work is a constant push and pull between ambience and rhythm, soaring open spaces and minute detail.
The extensive instrumentation forms the layers of sound, on top of which the two alternating and at times converging voices convey the poetry and depth of the songwriting. The songs on their forthcoming record Buzz, the duo’s second album, are intricate and maze-like stories of solitude and longing, hovering within arm’s reach of the truth only to fold in on themselves and discover something previously unknown.
