After years of exclusively performing blues and soul on the Chicago circuit, singer Elisa Latrice had grown tired of living in a musical box. In 2023, she enlisted former JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound guitar player Billy B to create their own rock n’ roll reimagining. Recorded in Chicago by the legendary Steve Albini, their breakout single "Ticking Bomb" blends foreboding Black Sabbath riffs with a vocal that owes more to Tina Turner than Ozzy. Backed by a band of Chicago greats that includes a former member of Smashing Pumpkins and a touring member of Gorillaz, "Ticking Bomb" proclaims the 100 Dayys debut on black and white film where Iggy Pop, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and Siouxsie and the Banshees all live on the same plane.
