The band 13, from the South Bay in Los Angeles, was formed in 1984 by Mike Theodore (guitar), Fred Pabst (vocals), Hank Jacobson (drums) and Marc Theodore (bass).
13 played at a few parties in 1984, and then did not play together again for 37 years until deciding to jam in the fall of 2021. The four members agreed at that session to get together at a future time to record some of their original songs. That recording session occurred in January of 2024, the 40th anniversary of the band’s origin, at Screaming Leopard Recording Studios in Hermosa Beach, California. The six tracks they recorded constitute this debut EP “1984 / 2024”.
