2-D is Sean, Nat, Josh, Will and Billy
Acclaimed by critics as “music” and “good”
2-D has been a project for years, morphing and changing over time. It started out as some (very) rough demos <a href="spotify:playlist:3Z2wwWMzdxrEBT2B0Uhdfa" data-name="Sean">Sean</a> (Vocals/Guitar) made on his phone. The first two releases <a href="spotify:album:2wagdvmPZMxAGsH3rFD423" data-name="Numb EP">Numb EP</a> and <a href="spotify:album:40WNMl7oAO7n18YNOem8Dm" data-name="Inside EP">Inside EP</a> are both collections from the Garageband vault. <a href="spotify:playlist:0DAn4JFLtk1oXUDwnUFQk8" data-name="Nat">Nat</a> (Bass) joined in 2020 and then <a href="spotify:playlist:2LmPgJwuEj1vgIn6uZQhwM" data-name="Josh">Josh</a> (Drums) and <a href="spotify:playlist:4UBVFiAreEsqwUh9EePPP6" data-name="Will">Will</a> (Guitar) about a year later to finish off the band.
Often described Post-Punk Revival, the four piece from rural England take inspiration from artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:4Z8W4fKeB5YxbusRsdQVPb" data-name="Radiohead">Radiohead</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3PP6ghmOlDl2jaKaH0avUN" data-name="Black Country, New Road">Black Country, New Road</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7Ht57YadlBXcFJDK3plmhO" data-name="The Microphones">The Microphones</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2Jv5eshHtLycR6R8KQCdc4" data-name="Grizzly Bear">Grizzly Bear</a> to name a few. Their debut album <a href="spotify:album:6uzNXgx6bbB1qcPSMgVYbR" data-name="Halfway Down">Halfway Down</a> came out late 2022 after being together for just over a year. It explores dark themes of regret and internal struggle. The whole album was written, recorded and produced over the summer of 2022 in <a href="spotify:playlist:3Z2wwWMzdxrEBT2B0Uhdfa" data-name="Sean">Sean</a>‘s bedroom.
‘As a band they’ve played sellout shows at venues in Leicester and Stamford. Being just 17 and 18 and still in school, it can be hard for them to put everything into music, but they do. With age comes experience, but what they lack in age, they make up for with creativity and raw talent’ - SFI
