31Ø8 (a reference to Joachim Trier's 2011 film Oslo, August 31st) is the brainchild of Leicester-bred London-based musician and alt-culture enthusiast Kyle Hill (formerly known as Tyler Zypreksa). After sending out a slew of fuzzed-up, leather-coated, sticky-with-pop demos Hill was picked up by Chicago neo-psych label Trouble In Mind Records who released the debut 31Ø8 LP in 2014. Hill (a multi-instrumentalist) wrote, recorded and produced the album in its entirety. Following this debut Hill subsequently released albums under the 31Ø8 banner on Jigsaw Records (2017) and Dreamland Syndicate (2020) and self-released two EPs (Into The City/Aim and …Presents The Wild Man Of Borneo). Blending the sounds of 90s punk, synth-pop, Yankee-freakbeat and grebo-chic 31Ø8 is guaranteed to start the pogo-party.
