Seattle’s 66 Saints emerged from the underground in the 1990s with a fierce, all-female lineup that carved space in the city’s queer punk and DIY scene. Fronted by guitarist/vocalist Lisa Orth, with Molly K on bass and Kat Carlise on drums, the band fused raw energy with melodic grit, delivering cathartic live sets and unapologetic attitude. Their 1995 album “Dreamdate” released on Orth’s own label Big Flaming Ego, captured the urgency of a band that thrived in the shadows of grunge and stood proudly apart. Fiercely independent, loud, and defiant, 66 Saints was a vital voice in a scene where women made their own rules—and proved they didn’t need permission.
