For 6stringer, music has been a defining thread in his life. From being a founding member of the Alabama punk band The Knockabouts as a teenager to his ongoing work with the instrumental jam band Stone Cobra, 6stringer brings a range of sonics and musical experiences that are now coming to light with his own new, solo material. A multi-instrumentalist and self proclaimed “DIY” musician, 6stringer records and mixes all his solo material, as well as Stone Cobra live jams, in his project studio in Austin, Texas. Equally adept in supporting roles or taking the lead out front, 6stringer enjoys going deep into the music for the sake of this song.
“I need music in my life. I think my family and friends all know that if I'm not actively pursuing what might be next in my own musical journey then I may be content, but I’m not fulfilled. It’s almost like it’s not a choice - I’m compelled to be a musician and search for that next chord sequence, melody or chorus that speaks to me, because maybe it will speak to others, too”.
