A-Do is Mandopop star from Singapore who found success as a romantic singer. Born on March 11, 1973, he comes from a humble background and exhibits a shy personality. Growing up in a single-parent household, he left school at age 15 and began working blue-collar jobs, including as a restaurant waiter, car mechanic, and construction worker. Though his shyness posed problems for his prospects in show business, his talent earned him a recording contract with the label Ocean Butterflies. Billing himself as A-Do, he made his recording debut in 2002 with the album Nightfall, which proved so popular that it was followed later in the year by the follow-up album Persevere to the End. His popularity led to additional albums such as Hello (2003), Those Love Songs (2004), and I Do (2005), along with the greatest-hits compilation Do the Best (2008). ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
