A Path Untold is the ever-expansive musical vision of composer/ producer Daniel Merrill, known for crafting a boldly unique style that blends elements of atmospheric lo-fi house, future garage and melodic breaks, intertwined in a richly cinematic aesthetic. Equally suited for forward-thinking dancefloors and intimate listening spaces alike, his output consistently offers immersive, melodic storytelling through innovative composition.
The music channels wholly personal, heartfelt expression with an emotional and otherworldly quality, seamlessly fusing elegant, syncopated grooves with an undercurrent of fierce defiance. Thematically, his work explores universal dualities in the spirit of the Mysterium Tremendum: ancient and futuristic, euphoric and melancholic, technological and natural, individual and collective.
Building on a rich release/tour history with his former IDM/Downtempo duo Aligning Minds (2004–2015), Merrill launched A Path Untold with Secret Subtle Light in 2015, setting the tone for his alchemical approach to electronic music. The album introduced a deeply introspective yet expansive sonic world - both meditative and transformative. Building on this foundation, releases like 2018’s Wander to Serve, 2020’s Lone Dweller EP, and 2022’s Sourcery LP (in collaboration with renowned art collective The Chambers Project) have garnered international acclaim for their intricate production, emotional depth, and transportive soundscapes.
