Above Only was formed in the early 2000’s in Memphis, Tennessee. During that time another band, Advocate Seven of Cincinnati, Ohio was making quite the impression on the music scene in the mid-west.
Member changes, personality conflicts, and all the drama that goes along with rock n’ roll folk lore resulted in two fractured bands in two totally different locations, but it all happened at just the right time.
The remaining members of both bands would collide via a mutual contact, and the rest is history. Though one thing remained - the name.
The significance of the name “Above Only” is rooted in our faith. Derived from scripture it’s a constant reminder of who we are and what our music means, not only to us or to our fans, but to The One who gave us the ability to create music to begin with.
Life ain’t always easy, it’s ugly, messy, and at times brutal. Our music captures that - the up’s, the downs, and everything in between.
We like it heavy, we like it rockin’, and we like it loud. Now, GET SOME!
