Influenced by artists ranging from The Beach Boys to Misery Signals, Absent Friends probably isn't the pop-punk band you'd expect them to be. Considering the “band" is made up of just two people doing the work of five, they probably don't even fit into the box that defines a band, anyway - and that's the way they like it. Operating outside genre norms, Absent Friends is made up of Vocalist Dante Marino and Guitarist Thomas McCallum. Their first release, Bar Chords, enlists local musicians from all over New England to create something familiar yet fresh, fun and full of infectious hooks.
