Achim Seifert is a German-Turkish bassist and composer, born in 1985 in Germany. Initially captivated by experimental rock, he eventually gravitated towards jazz at a young age. After completing school, he pursued his studies at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” in Hannover, learning from renowned musicians Lars Hansen and Detlef Beier.
Achim later received a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied bass with prominent figures such as Oscar Stagnaro, Lincoln Goines, Hal Crook, David Fiuczynski, Andy McGhee, Dave Samuels, Sarah Brindell, Eguie Castrillo, Wayne Krantz, and many others.
In 2014, Achim had the massive honor of being invited by jazz legend Trilok Gurtu to tour with his group. This experience proved to be a significant milestone, helping him grow both musically and personally.
Two years later, in 2016, Achim was nominated for the “ECHO JAZZ” award in the category of Best National Bassist, a prestigious recognition often referred to as the German equivalent of the Grammys.
In addition to his live performances, Achim has been involved in studio and composition work for acclaimed pop artists, including Udo Lindenberg, Max Mutzke, Alvaro Soler, Joy Denalane, Annett Louisan and Nils Wülker.
