Adonis has been, for over a decade, re-shaping the sound of Levantine music, through their signature fusion of pop-rock with local influences.
Renowned for their electrifying live shows, Lebanon's Adonis was formed in 2011 by Anthony Adonis (vocals, keys) and Joey Abou Jawdeh (guitars). The pair, who met during their university days studying architecture together, were later joined by Nicola Hakim on drums and Gio Fikany on bass guitar.
Alongside Autostrad, Mashrou’ Leila and Aziz Maraka, Adonis is a pioneer of 2010s Arabic indie-rock, and has headlined the leading festivals in the region, including the Carthage International Festival and the Baalbeck International Festival.
Written in the Lebanese dialect, and drawing on diverse socio-cultural themes, many of Adonis’ songs, such as “Yeb’a Enna” and “Al Khafif”, have amassed millions of streams, and become anthems across the Arabic-speaking world.
Adonis has, so far, released 7 studio albums and performed sold-out shows around the world.
