Born in Dover Delaware, and later moving to the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland; Atlanta, Georgia and then Houston, TX, Aesja knew she wanted to be a singer from the age 3. The youngest of five siblings, Aesja would dance and sing over R&B records her parents played in the car.
After participating in talent shows, auditioning for television singing competitions, and recording covers of songs at home, Aesja first appeared on her older brother, LIL JSEAN’s, Facebook-released songs; and later his 2013 mixtape, Flight, with the collaborative “You’re Not Welcome.” In 2014 she began opening for artists such as Nipsey Hussle and Waka Flocka Flame when their tours stopped in Texas.
