Aeve Ribbons developed her style as an artist in Manchester, UK, playing keys and singing in the 7-piece band Johnny Sly, amongst other groups such as Arctic Turn. She developed a love for improvisation and collaboration through participating in the eclectic jam sessions of Manchester's bars and basements, drawing inspiration from the range of talented artists in the city's music scene.
Her personal style has influences of jazz, soul, blues and folk music, with hints of her early training in classical piano. She has also collaborated with electronic artists and producers, and features on the debut EP of Ecuadorian producer Joaquín Cornejo, titled "El Viaje".
Aeve released her first EP, Fault Lines, in 2018, as a female-led collaboration with Manchester-based musicians and producers. Since then she has been developing her style in Barcelona, Spain, experimenting with a loop pedal and drawing influences from her new surroundings.
