Against The Current formed in 2011 in Poughkeepsie, New York, when vocalist Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Dan Gow, and drummer Will Ferri were just 15. A run of early EPs culminated in 2015's Gravity, which caught the attention of Fueled by Ramen and led to their 2016 debut In Our Bones, a record that peaked at number two on the UK rock chart and the US Heatseekers list. Their second album, Past Lives, followed in 2018, backed by a world tour spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

In 2017, the band's reach went global with "Legends Never Die," the official anthem of the League of Legends World Championship, which they performed live at the finals in Beijing's Bird's Nest stadium. The song has since been certified Gold by the RIAA, and remains one of the most recognized esports anthems ever made.

After the breakout success of their 2021 EP Fever, the trio went independent, and their singles "silent stranger," "blindfolded," and "good guy" racked up more than 40 million streams worldwide, proving the band's audience only grew without a major label behind them.

Now, 15 years in, the trio is releasing Till Death & Back, their first full-length since Past Lives, on October 30, 2026. Previewed by "Heavenly," "Dead Man Walking," and "Always You & I," it's their first full length album as an independent band, with UK and European tours to follow.
