A.I.M, whose name is an acronym for Ambitious Independent Musician, is an Artist and Producer hailing from South London, Brockley and member of the 'Navy' music collective.
Taking great influence from an array of genres such as 90s R&B and Hip Hop, UK Grime as well as Ghanaian Hiplife, A.I.M combines these influences to create a polished sound full of positive expression that provides an escapism from the pressures of life, best described by A.I.M as 'Vibes on unlimited supply'.
Speaking to the OFFIE MAG in 2021 A.I.M describes his style to be free from boundaries:
‘We’re not chips, we’re not meant for the box, doing whatever I like, that’s my style. I can’t be boxed, and even when listening to music, I don’t listen to one type of music so naturally, I’m never gonna make one sort of thing.’
One consistent element to his music though is taking influence from his heritage, with the Ghanaian South Londoner stating just that. ‘My West African influence is important, it’s the core for me...it’s something I can’t ever forget - that all comes from my Dad’s record collection, consisting of old school West African legends.’
